TranzCoastal Train
One of the world's most scenic train journeys, the TranzCoastal travels through 22 tunnels and crosses 175 bridges, one of them being New Zealand's only road-rail bridge. As on the TranzAlpine, the TranzCoastal includes an open air viewing carriage where all your senses are awakened with the clean, fresh, sea air. The TranzCoastal departs Christchurch and Picton daily.
Mt Taranaki
With its Mt Fuji-like shape, Mt Taranaki is a perfect, almost symmetrical cone. Its peak often rises above the clouds and can be seen from miles around. It is near the bustling coastal city of New Plymouth. It is possible to ski the mountain and go surfing in the Tasman Sea the same day as they are only 30 minutes apart.

Auckland yachts and City Skyline
Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and its marinas are home to more yachts per head of population than anywhere else in the world. It also has the highest building in the country. The Sky Tower at 328 metres Over (990 Ft) makes spectacular viewing from Westhaven Marina at night.

Kiwi Bird.
The kiwi, found only in New Zealand, gets its name from the plaintive shrill cry of the male bird. The nocturnal flightless bird is thought to have lived in New Zealand for 70 million years. The kiwi is a national symbol and New Zealanders are often referred to as "Kiwis".
Yellow-eyed penguin, Dunedin
This little fellow is one of the world's rarest penguins. Also known as the Hoiho, the Yellow-eyed penguin can be found on Dunedin's scenic Otago Peninsula. This protected species is free to strut its stuff on this South Island beach.
